Redford Township Festival Sure To Please

The Redford Township Festival makes its annual appearance on June 7 – 10 at Bell Creek Park, located on the corner of 5 Mile and Inkster Roads. A long standing event in the Township, the Festival this year is sure not to disappoint. To kick off the festival this year, the committee has moved to launch the program with a “Cornhole” tournament, and Redford Karaoke Idol. Participants can register by calling the Redford Chamber of Commerce at 313-535-0960 or onsite. Cornhole and Karaoke kick off at 6pm.
In addition to the kick off, the midway returns featuring rides, games of chance, and traditional carnival treats. The Midway is brought to Redford by Arnold Amusements, Inc. This year, carnival goers have a unique opportunity to pre-purchase a ticket for a discounted rate of $10, good for unlimited rides on the opening Thursday night. Pre sales are available through the Chamber of Commerce, as well as the Redford Township Community Center.
The Festival stretches four days and includes some top notch entertainment including bands such as Scoot Magoo on Friday evening, Funhouse and Robert Johnson on Saturday, and Nick Jastrzembski and Austin Scott for Sunday. In addition to this entertainment, the festival tent will have cold beer and spirits, food, and a large dance floor for patrons.
Through the generosity and support of Detroit Diesel, the fireworks return to the Festival on Saturday evening. Parts of 5 mile and Inkster roads will be shut down preceding the show. Shuttles to and from the the festival will be available on Saturday, departing from both Redford Township Hall and Western Graham Field.
For the kids, on Saturday and Sunday there will be a bounce house, face painting, magic shows, and more! Sunday is the official “Kids Day” and will include the infamous Water Wars, as well as many other kid friendly activities and events.
